USS Enterprise (CV-6) was the seventh U.S. Navy vessel to bear the name Enterprise. Colloquially called "The Big E," she was the sixth aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. Launched in 1936, she was the lead ship of the Yorktown class, one of three carriers built to the same design.
